Educator of young children as a Master Teacher for 20 years:

Jeri Hunt Henderson completed Her Earth Journey and Transitioned peacefully from This Life to The Next Life with The Almighty, Tuesday morning.  With her mother and her sisters holding her hand, Jeri’s earthly body ceased breathing at 3:30a.m., May 15, 2007; and without missing a beat, She began breathing the Eternal Breath of Life as She was received into the loving arms of Jesus Christ, Her Lord and our Lord.  Amen.

Jeri exerted a positive influence on many people in her life.  In addition to being an ardent spokesperson for the fight against lupus, she also served faithfully as a master teacher of elementary aged children, with a particular focus on teaching gifted and talented children.  Indeed, teaching children was Jeri’s God-given calling and ministry.

Jeri graduated from Wynne High School in 1983 and went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, AK, in 1987.  Jerri was a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, along with her sisters Sonya and Cheryl.  After graduating from U of A, Jeri returned to Wynne and began her first years of service at Wynne Elementary School (under the principalship of Mr. James Pitchford).  In 1988, she relocated to Ft. Worth, Texas and taught there for nineteen (19) years.

Jeri is survived by her husband Terrence Roderick Henderson, her children Teri Megan and Terrence Roderick, Jr.; her parents, Merdie and Richard Hunt, her four sisters Anita Hunt Johnson, Valerie Hunt, Sonya Hunt Gray (Cecil), and Cheryl Hunt Kearney (Victor); her aunt Terrye Embry; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends and loved ones.  Services celebrating Jeri’s Life and Journey are being held in the Ft. Worth area where she resided until her Transition; and a memorial service will be held in Wynne, Arkansas within a month – precise date to be determined.   Instead of flowers, please make donations to the Alliance for Lupus Research or the National Kidney Foundation.  Jeri’s family releases and entrusts Her to the loving mercy of God, as Psalm 23 encourages, “ . . . even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; because The Almighty Living Loving God is with Me.”
